In creating this light show, I was deeply inspired by the song "Xian'er" by Second Hand Rose, a masterpiece that blends elements of Eastern and Western music into a unique rock experience. I decided to translate this unique musical fusion into the language of light and shadows, expressing the song's mystique, classicism, and passion through lighting.
First, I used 32 DTS FOS 100 units and 17 ACME Solar Impulse XA-1200 BSWF as my main lighting fixtures. I designed them to produce intense beams and dynamic tracking effects, especially during the climax of the song. I wanted to convey the passion and power in the music through these strong visual effects.
Next, I utilized 10 Acme BL-200 Stage Blinders and 31 STAGE BLINDER IP RGBWs to create sudden bright light effects, simulating lightning or strong rhythmic impacts. This design aimed to generate instant tension and surprise among the audience, enhancing their immersive experience.
I also employed 142 ACME Energy XA-400 Spot Pros and 72 DTS Bricks to create foundational lighting and soft background colors. By adjusting the colors of these fixtures, I could transition from warm to cool tones according to the emotional shifts in the song, intending to create a mysterious yet warm atmosphere.
144 Acme MP300Z II RGBW LED Pars were chosen to provide uniform stage wash lighting. This helped to highlight the main areas of the performance, especially during key moments of the music. These LED fixtures aided in focusing the audience's attention, emphasizing the synchronization between the music and the performance.
Finally, I specifically chose 2 high-performance lasers for adding visual climaxes in certain parts of the music. Using the precision and intensity of lasers, I created visual surprises that added a sense of futurism and technology to the performance.
With the Depence R3 software, I was able to precisely choreograph every fixture, ensuring that the lighting effects were tightly synced with every beat and emotion of the music. GrandMA on PC provided me with a powerful lighting control platform, allowing me to adjust and refine my lighting design in real-time. This light show is my pride, not only showcasing my technical skills but also my interpretation and tribute to the beautiful emotions conveyed in "Xian'er."
